"Since we bought our Catrikes, we have had a blast!! We enjoy taking off early in the morning and riding 'til we just have no daylight left. The greatest part is that our necks don't ache and we know we aren't hurting ourselves. We can just have fun. The best gift we've given ourselves in years!"

"I left Amsterdam with two Schwalbe Marathon Plus tires. Four thousand miles later I had my first flat. Even though the tread was not worn completely, I decided to replace them with the Marathon XR. These also lasted for another four thousand miles with no flats. I replaced them when one developed a tear. The total load on the bike including my gear and myself was 350 pounds. Schwalbe makes excellent tires."

"I rode the Tour Easy in the 2007 109 mile 'El Tour' in Tuscon, Arizona. I had done it the previous three times on a knobby mountain bike. On my recumbent my rear end felt great at the end. I did the ride about 1/2 an hour faster on the Tour Easy. Uphills were a bit slower but on the downhills nothing could touch it."

This is what Tim Harris has to say about the Schwalbe tires he uses on his Greenspeed:
"Awesome grip. No flex at speed. Only tires I will ever use."
"I've lost 80 pounds over the last six months through diet and exercise. I started riding my Rans V-Rex recumbent bicycle daily building up to one hour per day 10 - 15 miles. I now ride 20 miles with little effort. My back doesn't hurt, my wrists don't hurt, and my butt doesn't hurt. I love recumbent bicycles - riding one has made all the difference."

"It started when we stopped by Spring Creek Recumbent Bicycles and took some recumbent bikes out for a free 2 hour ride. After that, we resolved that our next bikes would be recumbent bikes. On my 50th birthday, Jep and a bunch of our friends surprised me with a recumbent bicycle. I just love it. It is easy on the body, fun to ride, and a feast for the eyes. When I'm riding, the landscape just opens up because I don't have to stare at the pavement anymore.
On our rides together, Jep just couldn't keep up with me on his mountain bike. Soon after that, Jep purchased a used recumbent. Now we ride together all the time. In fact, we have ridden our recumbent bicycles more in the last 4 months than we ever rode our regular bikes in the last 4 years. I think that if anyone will just try riding a recumbent, he or she will love it. The people at Spring Creek Recumbent Bicycles take very good care of us. We like going there because of their friendly service. They take the time to make sure our bikes fit, are working properly, and that I understand how to work the shifters. It's obvious that they really care about doing a good job and want the whole recumbent experience to be a positive one."

"I think that my husband loves his recumbent more than he loves me -- or at least he talks about it more. He has always loved to ride bikes but was never comfortable. None of the different fittings and various seats ever alleviated his discomfort. On his recumbent, he is more motivated to go ride and won't fizzle out on me because of discomfort. We are planning our whole retirement around his recumbent bike. He is a believer for life and is totally sold on recumbent bikes. He says, 'On a recumbent you don't stop because you are tired and uncomfortable, but because you have run out of time!'"
Here's what James Werning says about his recumbent bicycle:
I am a CSU student majoring in biochemistry. Last spring I began shopping for a road bike but found that I had no saddle endurance. In other words, riding on a regular bike seat was a pain in the rear. Longer rides were very painful. I did some research on the internet and found that Bacchetta made high performance recumbent road bikes. Through their website, I learned that Spring Creek Recumbent Bicycles in Fort Collins was a Bacchetta Recumbent bicycle dealer. I didn't even have to leave my hometown to try one out! The best thing was that Spring Creek Recumbent Bicycles rented recumbent bikes so that I was able to ride the bike I wanted before making my purchase. I love my recumbent bike. It is fast, fun and sporty. On long rides, nothing beats the comfort of my recumbent. Because of the heads up position, I also enjoy the scenery more than I ever did before. Since buying my Bacchetta Strada this spring, I have already done two century rides and many other smaller rides.
I had four bikes collecting dust in my garage because none fit me properly due to poor bike shop buying experiences. Recently I vowed once again to find the right bike for me along with a great bike shop with which to do business. My search led me to Spring Creek Recumbent Bicycles in Fort Collins.
Rob and John were great! They patiently answered all of my questions, let me test ride different bikes, perfectly facilitated the purchase of the right recumbent bike for me, and helped me sell a bike. I love my new Burley Koosah Recumbent and have finally found a top-notch cycling shop! I typically like to buy local but for all of my cycling needs I will now drive 45 miles to do business with Spring Creek Recumbent Bicycles.
My new recumbent won't be collecting dust as it fits me perfectly and I love to ride it. Recently I rode it on the Cheyenne Greenway. As I passed a couple that was walking, one walker said to the other: "Now that's a bike!" I agree. But I would add, "Spring Creek Recumbent Bicycles -- now that's a cycling store!" -Fred Rife (Cheyenne, WY)
Spring Creek Recumbent Bicycles will be having a rally on June 24th. We hope you can join us. Stop by or call us at 221-4838 or visit comfybikes.com to learn more.
Couple Happy Riding Recumbent Bicycles Together
Local Dentist Dr. Roger Northern and his wife Nancy Northern love riding their recumbent bicycles together. It all began when Roger wanted to ride his bike but found it rather uncomfortable. After trying different bikes he realized that a recumbent bike was the solution to his discomfort problem. He got one in February of 2004 and loved it immediately. He rode to and from the office and on weekends for pleasure. He was having such a good time that his wife Nancy wanted to give it a try. She had some back problems and hadn't been very active for this reason. After trying different styles, Nancy chose a different recumbent bicycle that better suited her needs. Now both Roger and Nancy are riding their bikes more than they ever dreamed they would. They are not riding to save gas or because it is good for their health, (both very good reasons). They ride because it is a lot of fun and feels great! Nancy says, "Since June 2004 I've been riding my recumbent bicycle. It's literally, 'changed my life.' Due to back pain I could no longer ride my road bike, or mountain bike. Since I've been riding my back has become stronger and I'm able to ride further. I've enjoyed it so much."
Betty Sherman - EZ-3 - Fort Collins, CO
My recumbent bike (trike, I should say) has changed my life. I ride it every day that isn't rainy. I am 80 years old and thought my lifelong habit of riding bikes was over when my knees refused to cooperate, but since finding my recumbent bike, it's a whole new world. I would love to see all my "old" friends look into this mode of transportation, which is much safer when we reach the age when our knees aren't what they used to be and we don't need any broken bones.
Onward, onward recumbent bike riders!
This is what Chris Johnson of Fort Collins says about his Schwalbe tires:
I've been a devotee of Specialized Armadillos but recently switched to Schwalbe Marthon Plus tires and am a convert! They have a much smoother ride, reliable gripping on corners, and no flats in almost 3000 miles of everyday use!
